Running DataPilot on Mac OS X. The Verizon cable worked with no problems. The cable did not work for us, when plugged in it resulted in a "Battery is required" message. Purchased a cable from Verizon they shipped it FedEx 2-Day at no extra charge as it was out of stock.
I can't say for sure, but I don't think I used the CD. That's why I gave it 3 stars.Anyways, I was able to connect it to my computer and download songs and ringtones no problem. Just used BitPim. It's a shame a traditional USB cable wont work. I'm sure LG designed it that way so they could make some extra money selling the cables.
Very pleased. Cable, drivers, & program are just what I needed to manage my Verizon VX9100 env2. Item delivered by BargainCell 5 days EARLIER than expected date; came with WinXP drivers for the cable for LG cellphones. [free BitPim software, available on the net (search for: bitpim)].
Software is only for Motorola phones, so it doesn't work for my LG. Inexpensive cable works fine.
For LG drivers, Google is you friend. Which makes sense, since the cable has a sticker on the plug "For MOT V8". It does what it's supposed to do. The cable does not have a preference for brands, phone colors, and probably does not care which device or phone you own. It also charges. Well, there's not much to say about this cable.
For me, it's used with the LG VX9100 and it works fine. So basically it's just "re-branded" or redirected towards LG users. After all, it's only a cable. The disk contains drivers for Motorola phones. After all, it's only a cable. These are used by devices which incorporate the MICRO USB port/plug/cable/whatever-you-want-to-call-it format.
I can transfer files to and from the phone(using BitPim) or directly to the memory card when it's in the phone.
